A Wedding Cake
Because sometimes the symbol has been sitting in the archive the whole time.
This image is not from a new body of work. It is “wedding B-roll” from an old second-shooter job with a fellow SCAD alum.
This is one of those images that was never meant to carry the whole story,
but still kept asking to.
A wedding cake is a promise object.
It is ceremony, performance, sweetness, pressure, decoration, labor, expectation,
and collapse risk all at once.
So yes, the cake is still a lie.
But it is also evidence.
Evidence that the studio has been looking at performance, ritual, ornament, social staging, and visual systems for a long time; even before those ideas had their own current.

My Work in an Accelerating World
This is where I write about AI as studio weather.
Not as a gimmick. Not as a surrender of authorship. Not as a replacement for the artist.
As pressure.
As noise.
As mirror.
As a tool that sometimes obeys the prompt and still misses the point.
These notes stay at the level of observation and discernment.
What to expect next …
I am letting this space begin simply and with a laugh.
There will be notes about art.
There will be notes about AI behaving badly, strangely, beautifully, or too confidently.
There will be observations about systems, decay, creative pressure, visual culture,
and the odd little moments where the studio reveals what it wants next.
Some things will be shown.
Some things will be hinted at.
For now, this is enough:
The porch light is on.
The cake has a blade in it.
The door is open.
